The City of Mequon Road 5-year Capital Improvement Program includes the reconstruction of Lake Shore Drive and Mequon Road. The Lake Shore Drive and Mequon Road project area (Zedler Lane, north to Mequon Road, then west to I-43), approximately 2.25 miles, will generally include culvert replacement, improvements to the open-ditch drainage system, pulverizing of the existing roadway pavement, and bicycle/pedestrian facility improvements including either: • Alternative 1: widening to accommodate 5-foot paved shoulders and an 8-foot asphalt sidepath; or, • Alternative 2: widening to accommodate 5-foot paved shoulders only. • Alternative 3: “do nothing” option, where the existing street will be pulverized and repaved in-kind, then shouldered.
