The purpose of this amendment to RFQ 36C25225Q0668 is to answer questions submitted to the contracting officer, extend RFQ close date and add site visit information. RFQ 36C25225Q0668 close date has been changed from August 21, 2025 to August 29, 2025 @ 10:00 a.m. CST. Dimensions: Could you please confirm if the overall height of 36" is correct? A standard work surface is typically a bit higher, and we want to ensure the unit will be ergonomically suitable for its intended use. Part of the issue is this item originally was requested in 2022 for FY23, prior to my coming on board to NFS, and was pushed into subsequent years. I believe this was mainly due to budget constraints, and the timing of LEAF moving to SEPG/EER requests. The measurements were done at that time, and the vendor came to our site to measure the area and then provided us with the basic quote and specs. From what I can see, 36 is the height of top of the wall separating the unit from the serving line. The actual refrigerated part of the display case would be on top of that. The broken unit (pictures attached) that it is replacing, is 7 4 long, 35 high and 36 deep at the base and the refrigerated top with display is 24 high and 27 deep. I am not sure what the fabricated model will look like, as I ve have not seen a picture of something similar. Since the unit is custom-made, any potential vendors would need to come on site and provide us with updated specs and measurements, as this could be different than what Nichol Custom came up with. See photos for reference. 1.a: Site Visit It is strongly suggested and expected that the offeror inspect the campus to be serviced to fully understand the nature of the work and the conditions under which the work is to be performed. In no case shall failure to inspect the campus constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. SITE VISITS SHALL TAKE PLACE PRIOR TO FRIDAY August, 27 2025 AT NOON LOCAL TIME. TO SCHEDULE A SITE VISIT, CONTACT POC Dean Spangel @ 224-610-4882 or EMAIL: Dean.Spangle@VA.GOV. Sliding Doors: The specifications call for sliding doors on both the front and the back of the display. Typically, these cases are configured as either full-service (staff access from the back) or self-service (customer access from the front). Could you please provide some insight into the intended application for this unit? Understanding how it will be used will help us confirm the dual-access design is what you need. My understanding from the specs is the counter is the top of the unit with 2 glass shelves, and the display is self-contained with coils in top of display. The display has sliding doors both in front and back. The counter is open in front with louvers in back panel. This is for displaying refrigerated items such as cut desserts, fruit, salad plates, etc. As stated above, any potential vendor would need to come on site to provide updated specs and measurements. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
