The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (District) is providing partnership funding to increase Green Infrastructure (GI) implementation and innovation within its service area through the Green Infrastructure Partnership Program. Selected green infrastructure projects will provide the District with information related to GI effectiveness, costs, and maintenance. Green Infrastructure projects are to be consistent with the Districts 2035 Vision and Strategic Objectives document that is the Districts long-range approach to eliminate combined sewer overflows (CSOs), improve water quality, and incorporate an overall triple bottom line sustainable approach to the way the District operates. The District has proposed funding in the fiscal year 2012 capital budget to implement green infrastructure demonstration projects within its service area. A successful application will highlight the Partners willingness to implement a project that will support achieving the Districts 2035 Vision and Strategic Objectives document, while also providing a water quality benefit to area waterways and/or reducing the amount of runoff to the Districts sewerage system. The Partner will also provide a cost-share component of the project and demonstrate a genuine interest in green infrastructure
