1. Excavate slope and sawcut existing pavement on Stewart Avenue. 2. Install approximately 280 LF of 6’ x 2’ x 2’ concrete bin block (or approved equal) to form retaining wall. a. 10” thick compacted #57 stone subbase with 2” thick #8 stone leveling course. b. Fill void in wall segment, at grade break, with concrete as shown on Plans (Detail 2). 3. Construct 3’ combination curb and gutter along length of retaining wall. a. Existing street signs to be replaced in kind: flush-mount breakaway poles embedded in curb. b. Form smooth transition to existing roadways at both ends of retaining wall. c. Seal interface between existing asphalt and curb. 4. Backfill excavated slope with granular aggregate and finish with geotextile fabric under 6” topsoil. 5. Install 4’ high black vinyl-coated chain-link fence along wall as indicated on plans.
