Specifications include, but are not limited to:The project includes; old mining structures and conveyors, two refuse piles (one pile approximately 3 acres in size and a second approximately 1 acre in size), an old coal stockpile area (approximately 1 acre in size) with exposed bedrock, and 7 portals. The general scope of work includes; demolition of structures, dewatering, construction of bat gate mine seals, splash pads, drainage channels, reclamation of coal refuse, stream bank stabilization, placement of soil cover, and re-vegetation of disturbed areas. Other work will include; temporary erosion and sediment control measures, maintenance and repair of existing roads, and construction of temporary roads for access. Drainage structures proposed will include; vegetated channels with erosion control matting and rip rap lined channels necessary to convey surface water to existing drainage features.
