3.1 General • Provide all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, and incidentals to restore the fence and backstop system to a safe, functional condition. • Protect the playing surface and school property. Restore disturbed areas upon completion. • Coordinate work hours with school administration to minimize disruption. • Comply with all applicable safety requirements and maintain a safe work zone at all times. 3.2 Demolition and disposal • Demolish and remove the downed backstop at home plate, including damaged fence fabric and components associated with the backstop failure. • Dispose of debris offsite. • Bidder shall repair any damages to the school building or premises caused while performing the work, at no additional cost. 3.3 Fencing materials and installation (minimum requirements) The following specifications represent minimum requirements. Equivalent or better materials may be used only if they fully comply with these specifications and are approved by the owner. The bidder is expected to base the bid on materials and equipment complying fully with the specifications. In the event the bidder names or includes materials or equipment which do not conform, the bidder, if awarded a contract, will be responsible to furnish materials and equipment which fully conform, at no additional charge. • Chain link fence fabric: galvanized, 9 gauge, 30 feet tall, no twist fabric (safety requirement). • Backstop height: 30 feet minimum. • Fence posts: 4 inch schedule 40 galvanized posts, with bracing at 5 feet on center (minimum). • Post foundations: set a minimum of 5 feet in depth with concrete footings, sized appropriately for the installation. • Include all necessary hardware, fittings, tension bars, ties, rails, caps, and accessories for a complete installation.
