Changing online systems is a year-long process for the Board's one-person staff and required education of the registrants. Development of a new system would cause delays in services, unnecessary changes, and training for staff and registrants. Certemy provides substantial efficiencies at a low cost, and the board's busiest time of renewals starts in June. Changing providers would necessitate replacing the existing licensing database management software, resulting in significant time and expense for the Board, as well as delays in providing necessary services to registrants and the public.
