Justification showing that the direct award is in the best interest of the state: Anderson is the OEM manufacturer of the unit and they are uniquely qualified to provide the specialized components and technical expertise required to ensure that the equipment is restored to its original operating condition. Given the critical nature of underbridge inspection, safety is our highest priority. Relying on OEM ensures that all repairs meet factory spec for structural integrity and operational safety. Third party providers do not have the knowledge, certified parts or support that Anderson can offer which could increase the risk of failure or compromised operator safety. The agency attempted to identify other sources by: Conducting Market Research; There is no other known source that can meet all of the OEM specifications, technical expertise and safety that the manufacturer can. Any limitations that a competing vendor would need to satisfy: Meet all OEM factory specifications on all certified parts and repairs. Would also need to have the proprietary knowledge of the equipment to complete the annual inspection.
