Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1.1.4 Material Testing: The Vendor will conduct all tests required by the Standard Specs to be performed at the certified plant. Any job site testing required by the Standard Specs will be performed by the WVDOH. 3.1.1.5 Temperature Control: The Vendor is required to meet the temperature requirements as set forth in the Standard Specs. The addition of ice, heating of mix water, or addition of admixtures in order to achieve acceptable temperature during batching, delivery and placement of Contract Item shall be incidental. Any addition of temperature control measures must be disclosed with WVDOH District 5 Bridge Department prior to use. 3.1.1.6 Haul Route: The Haul route, from the Vendor’s plant, will be over suitable routes selected by the WVDOH District 5 Bridge Engineer. All such chosen routes shall have acceptable load limits for both roads and bridges. Contract Item must be delivered to Agency at the Pallet Factory Bridge Replacement Project near Berkeley Springs, WV on Winchester Grade Road (C/R 13). GPS coordinates for the project are 39.54603, -78.23246. The hauling of Contract Item shall be incidental. 3.1.1.7 Admixtures: All concrete shall be air entrained. The cost of air-entraining shall be included in the Unit Bid Price of the Class B concrete on the Pricing Page. Vendor shall include a hydration control stabilizing admixture(s) if the concrete cannot be discharged within one- and one-half hour. Admixtures and mix design must be pre-certified/pre-approved with MCS&T and compatible with Vendor’s Class B Concrete Mix Design. Class B Concrete that includes a hydration control stabilizing admixture will have three hours to discharge concrete and the maximum of 300 revolutions, specified in AASHTO M 157, will be waived. Concrete that includes a hydration control stabilizing admixture cannot have additional water added at the project to increase workability. To increase workability, superplasticizer must be used and be sent with the trucks to be included at the project site. Target slump will be 5 inches (+2inches/-1 inch) to satisfy workability and placement. Any other admixtures used by the Vendor, in order to satisfy the requirements of this Contract and Standard Specs, shall be considered incidental to the Contract Item. Admixture addition, other than standard approved mix design, must be disclosed with WVDOH District 5 Bridge Department prior to use.
