Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Seattle Department of Transportation’s Shared Mobility Hub program within the Transit and Mobility Division seeks to increase the effectiveness and legibility of the Westlake Station area as a shared mobility hub. A shared mobility hub is a place where transportation connections, travel information, and community amenities are aggregated into a comfortable, seamless, understandable, and on-demand travel experience. To meet this goal, SDOT secured CMAQ grant funding to complete a range of projects in the area, including: Reallocating curb space to more Passenger Load Zones (PLZ) to make the ride-hail connections to transit safe and convenient Adding more Car Share Only parking zones Increasing bike and bike share parking in the area While the above work will increase shared mobility access to the area, more work is needed to improve access to transit and highlight the Westlake Station entrances. To help meet this need, a portion of the CMAQ funds are allocated to improve wayfinding and implement placemaking interventions to highlight the existing transit connections.
