Specifications include, but are not limited to: Through this competitive solicitation, the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking consultants with experience in serving the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Community to support and expand the current lifespan respite program to TBI survivors, their family members and caregivers. Respite services support unpaid caregivers so they are able to take needed breaks from the demands of caregiving. The goal of the pilot is to meet the respite needs of the TBI community caregivers in a culturally relevant way. DSHS seeks to contract with an organization with experience in serving individuals with TBI and knowledge of respite care, demonstrated through the following: (1) Provide administrative oversight for the submitted Proposal and contract deliverables within this RFP; (2) Enhance the existing LRW program by recruiting culturally relevant RPAs; (3) Educate and promote respite services by developing a TBI respite training and related outreach/awareness materials; and (4) Develop financial sustainability efforts to help sustain the program. b. Objectives (1) Expand TBI relevant respite services; (2) Increase awareness of respite services to TBI survivors, their family members and caregivers; (3) Develop and expand a respite provider agency network that provides relevant services to individuals who have a TBI, their family members and caregivers; (4) Successfully refer at least ten (10) TBI survivors, their family members and caregivers to LRW vouchers per contract year; (5) Assist caregivers with the respite application and the voucher process; (6) Develop a TBI respite training and related outreach/awareness materials; (7) Educate and promote service providers within the TBI community about the availability of the LRW; and (8) Work towards ongoing sustainability
