Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Sumner’s South Tank is a 2 million gallon reservoir constructed of fabricated steel. The reservoir’s capacity to withstand significant seismic events is unknown. The City desires to retrofit the tank in such a manor so as to reduce the risk of a catastrophic failure from seismic forces. The adjacent mechanical piping and electrical systems may also require modification to reduce the risk of catastrophic failure to a level commensurate with the survivability of the reservoir structure. The Viewpoint Booster Pump Station currently does not have emergency power generation available and the single phase utility service requires additional complexity in maintaining electrical equipment. The City anticipates the need to recoat the interior and exterior of the reservoir in conjunction with this project. The work to be performed by the Consultant consists of performing engineering and professional services necessary for the design and construction of this project. This solicitation will likely have a design phase and a construction management phase associated with it. Respondents may include sub-consultants within their project team. Portions of the funds for this project may be obtained from a FEMA Hazard Mitigation grant. If these funds are received, the project will be expected to comply with the terms and conditions associated with that grant award.
