Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Tacoma (City), Department of Public Utilities, Light Division, dba Tacoma Power, is issuing this request for proposals (RFP) for on-call Historic Preservation consulting services to assist Tacoma Power staff in the assessment historic properties on Tacoma Power lands. Respondent(s) will also assist in the development and preparation of studies, reports, operation and maintenance plans, protection/treatment measures, and other services required by federal and state laws and Tacoma Power’s federal licenses for operating its hydroelectric facilities. Tacoma intends to select two firms with the same compensation ($125,000), Firms A and B will both assist with large-scale and small-scale projects. Tacoma Power intends to contract with Respondent(s) qualified to provide Historic Preservation services for built resources. Most of the work will occur in Lewis, Mason, Pierce, Thurston and Grays Harbor counties at Tacoma Power’s hydroelectric projects licensed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The selected Respondent(s) may also be expected to respond to occasional requests for historic preservation consulting services on other City of Tacoma assets outside of FERC project boundaries. The Contract shall commence upon issuance and will be in effect for two (2) years with the option to extend the agreement for up to three (3) additional years in one-year renewals to a total of five (5) years. Consultant services will be on an on-call, as-needed basis to assist Tacoma Power’s Natural Resources staff implement hydroelectric project license requirements and meet laws and regulations that pertain to the protection of built resources.
