Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Agency intends to purchase a used FAA certificated standard category utility Bell light helicopter to fulfill several needs including, but not limited to, pilot/aircrew training, wildland fire support and personnel movement. It will be used as a training platform for external load/long-line missions and normal maneuver currency, a wildland fire aircraft, and a passenger transport platform. As the aircraft will be used in such a versatile assignments, it needs to have the capability to transition between each role seamlessly. Our current fleet of helicopters is set up for each aircraft to be flown single-pilot from the left seat (for external load visibility and ergonomic considerations). In the interest of continuity, we require our light aircraft to have the characteristics, maintenance likeness, aircraft handling characteristics, and meet specific performance requirements as outlined in the specifications. In the passenger transport role, we will require the capability to accommodate up to 6 passengers (plus pilot) at a time.
