Specifications include, but are not limited to: Our goal for Career Connect Washington Intermediary Funding is to help catalyze the development or scaling of high-quality Career Launch programs across Washington State that will prepare students to succeed in our state’s booming economy. The funding will also support Washington State’s WIOA plan to strengthen business engagement through work-based learning (Strategic Element (b)) and the development and implementation of innovative programs and strategies designed to meet the needs of all employers. As part of the Career Connect Washington system design, program intermediaries will work with regional networks, career connected learning coordinators at the Educational Service Districts, and industry and education partners to expand the use of current curricula and develop or build new curricula for career launch programs, and if desired, career preparation and career exploration/awareness programs that lead to career launch. Intermediaries will develop an application or multiple applications for locally-designed Career Launch programs to be endorsed by the state Career Launch Endorsement Review (CLER) process, facilitate business and education partners’ successful launch of the endorsed Career Launch program(s), and ensure that local young people have equitable access to participation in the endorsed programs.
