The scope of this project is to design, fabricate, deliver and install an artwork piece to support the theme and concept design of the new play area at Curtin Creek Community Park. The following goals should guide the art: 1. Expand the opportunity for residents of all ages to experience art in public places. 2. The artwork should be whimsical and fun, inviting imagination in the play area of the new park. 3. Create a more visually pleasing environment and spark imagination and creative play in park visitors. The artwork shall spark visual interest from the parking area and play area entry point and engage users up close (including children). 4. Consider the play area design theme of celebrating the native birds and native habitat of the Gaddis Wetlands and Curtin Creek. 5. Be an appropriate fit for the space provided. The approximate footprint of the area is 8 feet by 8 feet and the proposed height is at least 15 feet. 6. Consider safety, accessibility, and ease of maintenance for the design of the art. 7. Should not require electricity or other utilities needed to function and provide aesthetic benefit. 8. Artwork that incorporates climbing or water will not be considered but structures that provide other forms of interaction and whimsey are encouraged.
