Specifications include, but are not limited to: The remodel is to improve and re-configure spaces for use of library staff, for distribution, for sorting and processing and installation of an Automated Materials Handler (AMH, aka book sorter), for re-location of reading and collection areas, and for creation of new areas to hold collections. New public-use conference and study areas will be created, and interior access reconfigured. New public restrooms will be added. The facility will get new interior finishes (e.g., ceiling tile, paint, carpet and base). Some new walls and doors will be built. Some new interior signage will be added. Improvements to electrical power, lighting, controls and telecommunication (data), and adjustments to mechanical (heating-ventilating and cooling ) systems will occur. The loading dock area will be upgraded.
