Specifications include, but are not limited to:Background information: The Department of Ecology is relocating its Central Regional Office in Yakima to a new leased development site in Union Gap, WA. Ecology requires at the Union Gap office the full installation of a new card key access control system that is integrated into Ecology’s existing centralized system based in Lacey, WA. Ecology uses a centralized card key access control system to manage facility security state-wide. Currently, Ecology’s security system is provided and maintained by ESC Automation. ESC Automation is the only firm capable of installing and maintaining the product used by Ecology. Under the terms of the proposed contract, Vendor/Contractor will provide a Key Card Security System at the Union Gap office. Supporting reasons for sole source contract: We are proposing this sole source contract / procurement to maintain the integrity of the agency’s existing centralized security system now in place. Security systems are unique. There are certainly competitive products and providers, however, each product is uniquely different from one another and they do not integrate or effectively communicate with one another in a centralized security system network as used by the Department of Ecology.
