The Commission is seeking to contract with an organization that can provide the following services: In partnership with the Commission, develop model policies for peer support services for first responders in Washington state. When developing the model policies, the contracting organization must consult with designated members of the First Responder Wellness Task Force created by RCW 43.101.802. The Commission will designate Task Force members to be used for this consultation. The model policies must be tailored to the following first responder professions: Law enforcement Firefighters Emergency medical services frontline providers Emergency dispatchers Corrections officers Coroners and medical examiners Co-responders The model policies must be designed to support efforts to establish and expand peer support services opportunities and networks for first responder professions specified under (b) of this subsection. The model policies must be designed to develop best practices and resources for first responder peer supporters. The model policies must be finalized by June 16, 2025.
