2.1 Medic One and Metro Accessible Services Backgrounds King County Medic One is the sole provider of Advanced Life Support and transport services in the South King County region. King County Medic One paramedics respond to various types of emergencies to provide patient care and transportation to the hospital. Medic One maintains a fleet of medic units for patient transport as well as administrative vehicles. The current Medic One fleet includes Ford Explorers, Chevrolet Tahoe’s, Ford E450 Medic Units and International Terrastar Medic Units. Metro Accessible Service Program is committed to providing King County residents and visitors with valued transportation services, and our services extend to customers with special needs due to age or disabilities. Metro provides Access Transportation paratransit service for qualified customers. The Accessible Services group manages the Access Transportation program, and develops transportation products, technologies and services that are accessible and usable by all people. We work to equip and motivate the community to provide additional mobility solutions and empower the public with information to make informed choices. 2.2 Introduction to King County Medic One Specifications King County Medic One periodically updates or replaces the logos and striping on various vehicles, which may include re-creation of existing decals, creation of new decals, removing the current graphics and installing new graphics. The Contractor shall print, finish and deliver vehicle decals from artwork supplied by King County. Upon Request, samples of the items listed below are available for review at the Medic One office arranged through the Buyer. All decals and artwork shall remain the property of King County and all decals and all aspects of artwork, sizes, colors, etc. held by the contractor will be returned to King County upon request. The Contractor shall be responsible for all labor, tools, equipment and supplies necessary for installation and/or removal of the vinyl graphics. The contractor shall be able to provide removal and installation service of decals upon request. If performing the work at Medic One's facility, work shall be performed during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.) and removal and disposal of all garbage shall be the contractors' responsibility. Example of current Chevron Application Specifications The chevron application on the Medic Units shall start at the top of the windows on the back of the vehicle and cover the rest of the rear vehicle below that point. The chevrons shall slope downward and away from the centerline of the vehicle at a 45- degree angle. The chevron stripes shall be 6 inches in width and shall alternate between red and reflective yellow.
