It is Kitsap Transit’s intention to contract with a qualified contractor to complete as needed tree trimming and removal projects under a unit price contract. The Contract will be for an initial period of performance of one (1) year with a Kitsap Transit option to extend the Contract for another one (1) year period. The quantities that are shown in the Bid Form are for Bid comparison purposes and for establishing the unit prices that Kitsap Transit will be charge through the life of the Contract. Kitsap Transit doesn’t guarantee a minimum spend amount or quantity of Work associated with this Contract. Kitsap Transit reserves the right to Contract with other firms to perform similar work if it is in Kitsap Transit’s best interest. Tree Removal The Contractor shall perform tree removal in accordance with industry standards. Removal service includes - Felling or controlled sectional dismantling of the tree - Removal of limbs, trunk section, and debris - Chipping, hauling, and disposal of all material - Leaving site in clean and safe condition Unless otherwise stated, cleanup and hauling are included in the base Diameter-at-Brest-Height (DBH Range) price. The Contractor shall not leave debris on-site unless specifically authorized by Kitsap Transit Pricing Structure Tree removal shall be billed according to the DBH pricing on the Bid Form. DBH is measured at 4.5 feet above grade. The following modifiers apply in addition to the base rate: - Dead/Hazardous tree modifier - Limited access modifier - Emergency response surcharge
