The UW HR & Payroll Business Process Documentation & Planning (BPDP) project will prepare UW for the implementation of a new HR/Payroll system by documenting UWs existing business processes, planning the future state of business processes and laying the foundation for change. It will run in parallel to, but separate from, the effort to procure the replacement HR/Payroll system. The project should reduce implementation costs and significantly decrease the risk of implementing the inefficient processes that exist today. BPDP will be a tool for change management, and will be instrumental in preparing the UW for the new HR/Payroll system. Further, this effort will raise medical center and campus stakeholder awareness and facilitate organizational readiness and acceptances of the new system and processes by engaging them early in the process. The University of Washington is a large and decentralized organization, with some centralized processes. The project deliverables must reflect processes end-to-end and include both the central and decentralized perspectives. This will require input from stakeholders across the University, including but not limited to central administrative organizations, schools and colleges, departments, self-sustaining organizations, and UW Medicine. The project duration is expected to be from six to nine (6-9) months, but will be finalized in initial scoping and kickoff discussions. The cost of the project will be contracted as a fixed fee. No additional specifications were given.
