Specifications include, but are not limited to: Washington State Tsunami Program The Washington State Military Department, Emergency Management Division, through its Tsunami Program, provides support and education for the emergency response programs throughout the state. The development of educational programs provides emergency managers with the knowledge and tools necessary to protect their at-risk coastal communities. The winning bidder will provide graphic design and editing services for four (4) publications relating to tsunami and other natural hazards, as described below, before December 31, 2012. - Project: Tsunami Information and Resources for Schools Description: Graphic design and editing services to produce a resource guide for K-12 education. Project scope includes: develop draft text and materials into a three-ring binder publication, design concept, content organization, illustration and photographic creation and/or selection, chapter indexes, binder creation, and will include print quote specifications, vendor selection, and commercial printer management oversight. Project will be completed by April 30, 2012 includes providing EMD with complete native digital files and PDF files for website. - Project: Media Guidebook for Natural Hazards in Washington Description: Update existing publication including page format, map and illustration updates and revisions, and print quote specifications, vendor selection, and printer management oversight. Project completion includes providing EMD with complete digital files and PDF files for website. - Project: All Hazards Guide Tabloid Newsprint Preparation and Vendor Management Description: Prepare graphic files of a 32-page tabloid newspaper that were recreated by statewide graphic design students for county emergency management offices. Project tasks will include technical review and correction as necessary of digital files, possibly rebuilding some publications into acceptable formats that will be usable by commercial web-fed offset printers. In some instances, new pages will be created where local office wishes to revise student work products. Develop printing specifications, vendor selection, and print management oversight. - Project: Print Management of All Hazards Guide In Washington Spanish Language Description: Prepare printing specifications for a 32-page tabloid newspaper for web-press printing, solicit and evaluate competitive printing bids, select and/or approve selection of bidder, prepare print-ready electronic files for printer, review and approve printers proof files, oversee final printing and delivery to client.
