Specifications include, but are not limited to:. We want the solution to have the following features: - Hosted as a service by Bidder (Western strongly prefers a hosted solution but will accept proposals for a non-hosted solution.) - Have a secure single sign-on capability using Westerns existing single-sign on procedure. These means accessible via the WWU uPortal or Banners Self-service which uses CAS authentication with no additional login requirement - Have a layered assessment (user/group) access, (example: institutional, administrative, college, department and individual instructor) that can be adjusted term to term with unlimited security access to ensure restricted viewing of data per faculty governed policies and procedures. Must provide for various security roles and access levels - Provide data granularity from institutional to individualized course/term in a searchable manner and have ability for analysis capable for longitudinal as well as individualized assessment - Provide the ability to load all instructors from Banner each term with at least the following data: Instructor name, course Subject, number, and section. Will also need to interface with Banner to obtain class lists to control student access - System should have a mechanism to track which students have responded, while guarding their identity from the faculty that are being evaluated - Software will need to handle multiple instructors per class - Software will need to provide the ability to have two evaluations for those courses that have both a lecture and lab - Software will need to provide ability to create custom forms to be used (there are currently 7 forms used) - Software must allow for open ended narrative answers - Software will need to provide the faculty the ability to select which form they want to use for their course - Provide option to allow individual faculty to decide whether they want to show the evaluation results on the web - If some kind of incentive is used (e.g. holds for grades) that incentive would need to interface with the evaluation system and that incentive communicated to student - Service must store all data securely - Service must provide access to data for assessment purposes after current needs (proposal should discuss retention of data) - Service must be capable of returning data to University in a usable form if requested by Western - Service must provide for minimal administrative maintenance from Western University personnel assigned will have moderate IT skills, - Service must be capable of transitioning Westerns existing paper evaluation content and current security level access while supporting individual upgrades in capacity at the course and department level over time (defined above in background)
