Specifications include, but are not limited to: The WDFW contemplates awarding a sole source contract to Eyes in the woods to provide a volunteer organization that will recruit, train, deploy, and coordinate thousands of hours of volunteer time for multiple projects statewide for the Hunter Access Program to increase regulation compliance and good stewardship on public and private lands with the belief that through increased public awareness of conservation concerns and public involvement our constituents can continue to access and enjoy the outdoors. Requirements include but are not limited to: Outfitting, assembling, and training remote camera system (RCS) teams in key areas of Eastern and Western Washington. The volunteer organization will install, monitor, and maintain a Remote Camera System to: 1) protect wildlife & aquatic resources during critical timeframes, 2) reduce vandalism, dumping and abuses on public and private lands, and 3) address additional private landowner concerns with forest products theft and other access related issues. Property Watch efforts were determined by numerous planning meetings with hunter access stakeholders (i.e., SW Land Access Coalition), Weyerhaeuser (Weyco) and WDFW Staff. Activities included volunteer recruitment, information stations, development and deployment of various signage interpretive materials. Property Watch efforts with WDFW Regional Wildlife Management, WDFW Enforcement Program employees, and the Weyerhaeuser Twin Harbors Management Team continue to retain public vehicle access to most of their lands.
