The intent of this project is to replace the existing entryway door, and provide electronic access for customers with disabilities to access the building more easily, following an internal review noting that BFT is not currently compliant. The replacement door will meet Federal and WA state ADA requirements for width, height, and door clearance. This project will also act as a precursor for electronic access control modifications to be completed in a separate project. The expectation is that the doors will be compatible with the DMP Virtual Keypad access control system, with additional details provided by BFT IT department. This will be addressed by integration of coring and wiring matching future upgrades. Work shall be completed during regular business hours, and impact to employee and customer entry should be minimized to the maximum extent possible. In the event that the door should be closed for access for a period of time, BFT requests a 24 hour notification ahead of time in order to ensure proper communication with employees and the public. Contractor will also meet for preinstallation meeting, and regular (weekly) updates are expected via email with progress, issues that have arisen, mitigating factors, and updates to project timeline. The door shall be confirmed functional and accessible before project acceptance.
