Project Description: The city plans to install an asphalt pedestrian walkway with an extruded curb along the west side of 180th Avenue SE, extending approximately 210 feet north from the intersection of SE 224th Street to the existing sidewalk near Covington Community Park. The project also includes the installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) and a marked crosswalk at the intersection of SE 224th Street and 180th Avenue SE to enhance pedestrian safety. As part of the same funding package, the project will remove two existing school speed limit signs and metal posts near the intersection of SE 256th Street and 156th Avenue SE. These will be replaced with solar-powered school zone beacons equipped with speed feedback signage. This work is included under City Capital Improvement Project (CIP) 1029.
