Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide behavioral screenings for preschoolers, infants and toddlers, upon request through staffing and additional follow up as needed. Participate in staff development activities and provide advice to meet the needs of children, families, and staff members as requested. Participate in regular staffings on mental health issues. Advise the program about mental health issues, child behavior, parenting issues, parent education, and family dynamics. Support the implementation on trauma-informed staff wellness initiatives. Observe and evaluate classroom behavior of enrolled children. Provide an annual summary of activities and outcomes to the Director or designated content lead. Provide personal mental health support to Head Start staff related to the performance of their duties. Work with families to obtain mental health assessments and services for children and families as needed, up to three visits per family. Provide referrals for children and families who need ongoing or long term services. Work with families on parenting skills and issues. Participate in regular family groups on mental health issues. Provide services to classroom sites in Mount Vernon, Burlington, Concrete, Sedro Woolley, LaConner, Oak Harbor and San Juan. May be a combination of in-person and virtual services.
