Specifications include, but are not limited to: King County is soliciting bids from interested and qualified firms to provide the lease of Snowcat equipment with the option to purchase (lease to own option). The purpose of this Invitation to Bid is to establish a contract to provide goods or services on an as needed basis. Any equipment leased shall be guaranteed to be fully functional and capable of performing the task(s) it was designed to perform under the manufacturer’s guidelines. All safety equipment/attachments shall be in place and functioning per the manufacturer’s design. Supplier shall be responsible for maintenance or routine repairs. Supplied equipment that is inappropriate or in disrepair will be rejected. Equipment more than eight (8) years old will be closely reviewed for condition and technology and may be rejected by County personnel if it is deemed insufficient for the job intended. The County is seeking the lease of Snowcat equipment to provide access to these remote communication sites during the winter months in order to continue routine maintenance and repairs on the as needed basis. The County will store the equipment for the leased term, and Contractor to pick up equipment at the end of each leasing term. Snowcat vehicle is required to be equipped with the following: A. The ability to carry 1500 pounds of additional payload. B. Enclosed heated cabins for driver and passengers. C. Should not exceed a width of 8 feet 6 inches. D. Hydrostatic or geared transmission and equipped to go forward and reverse. E. A minimum of a 6-way plowing blade. F. Must have external lights in the front and rear that provide ample lighting G. Capability of turning 360 degrees in a stationary position, stick controls preferred. H. Multiple 12-volt power connector inside cab. I. Articulating or articulating track machines are not acceptable. J. Rear exterior cargo space of at least 30 inches.
