Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Seattle, through its Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), requests statements of qualifications (SOQ) from consulting firm(s) to assist in the production of the School Road Safety Action Plan. The goal of this plan is to increase safety on streets near schools through a combination of safety education, street improvements, encouragement, enforcement, and evaluation, and builds on work already being done through SDOTs Safe Routes to School program. The categories of consulting services that may be needed for this project include, but are not limited to: research, data collection and GIS analysis, engineering design, development of multi-modal safety education curriculum, development of strategies for effective law enforcement around schools, graphic design support, and project management.
