Specifications include, but are not limited to: Metro Parks Tacoma (MPT) is seeking qualified consulting firms and/or individuals in the state of Washington to submit proposals outlining their qualifications to provide risk and emergency management consulting services. It is MPT’s intent to have one consultant provide risk management services. Services shall include the following: • Conduct an evaluation of the MPT's current programs and practices related to risk management. • Interact and leverage existing partners and associated resources of outside agencies to MPT including insurance pools (i.e., Washington Cities Insurance Authority; Association of Washington Cities) companies and professional organizations (i.e., Municipal Research Services Center, National Recreation and Park Association; Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation Agencies), and other local, regional and state government agencies. • Assist MPT with review, development, and implementation of "best practices" programs, policies and procedures to improve risk management in order to recommend loss control and modification (mod) factor. • Assess current training programs, develop, and provide staff training related to risk management topics as mutually agreed. • Conduct risk analysis, identify trends and issues, and recommend solutions to staff. • Assist in providing written reports, photo and video documentation, memos, and other correspondence as necessary for diverse audiences, including external parties, legal counsels, and elected officials. • Review security incidences and respond with recommendations. • Review insurance language for contracts with outside vendors and partners and suggest changes that mitigate risk to MPT. • Review insurance certificates from contractors, vendors, and professionals for proper endorsement requirements for compliance with MPT policy. • Work with staff to develop, recommend and implement asset and/or procedural improvements to minimize risk of 3rd party accidents/claims. • Attend and participate in various committee meetings and/or general meetings as requested (i.e., executive cabinet, special events, etc.) and provide follow up research, investigation and reporting of findings as needed.
