Specifications include, but are not limited to: Survey current published or posted research data regarding community preparedness. Include State, Federal and Local projects. Use data collected to design research project for King County that measures community preparedness at home and work. Compare research findings with national standards and research to determine the effectiveness of community preparedness and awareness programs, since previous research projects. Deliverables: 1. Conduct research that will determine whether there has been an improvement in the level of awareness and actions to become better prepared for disaster, within King County. Conduct research to Identify preferences for customers to receive information. Identify any terms, concepts or approaches that would increase the likely of people to take action to prepare. 2. Analyze data from this research project and compare with other local research to determine changes in preparedness levels and suggest any methodology/marketing approaches. 3. Define the methodology that will be most effective in determining the requested outcomes, given the budget provided for this project. 4. Summarize findings in a written report and provide at least one presentation to steering committee and public educators within the County. 5. Amount: Maximum amount available for this contract is $50,000. 6. Due Date: Work is to be completed and invoiced by December 31, 2012
