Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe’s (SBIT) Information Technology (IT) Department currently manages a Wi-Fi (802.11x) network throughout all of the Tribal Government buildings. Wireless Coverage is mostly limited to building interiors, however there is some external wireless coverage as well. SBIT IT would like to expand Wi-Fi coverage to the entire reservation (and Tribal lands). The primary goal of this expansion is improved wireless coverage for staff communication (safety) and productivity (mobile workforce). The secondary goal of this expansion is general wireless connectivity for visitors (Cell service is very poor). SBIT IT is piloting a Band 71 (600Mhz) project and we are awaiting licenses for Band 41 (Tribal Priority – 2500 MHz). Therefore, we would like to have both frequencies included in the design. Proposals that reflect experience working with Native American tribes with proven abilities in the areas of wireless infrastructure engineering and construction will be the most competitive. The successful proposer will demonstrate, on the part of the lead planner, knowledge, and experience in tribal/local/regional/ and state levels of wireless networking.
