Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification; The purpose of this contract is to continue establishing, promoting, and administering the Purple Star Award, a newer designation beginning in 2024 designed to recognize school districts and schools demonstrating educational and social-emotional supports to students of military service members facing transition to new schools, resulting from Substitute House Bill 1346. The Contractor shall continue establishing, promoting, and administering this program across the State of Washington and recognize Purple Star districts in state and regional events. I.B. Scope of Work. In order to accomplish the general objectives of this Contract, Contractor shall perform the following specific duties to the satisfaction of the OSPI Contract Manager: Year 1: a. Promote and establish the Purple Star Award program: i. Through appropriate and established channels and relationships, continue promoting and establishing this program. b. Application & review process: i. Update the application process to allow applicants to attach proof of professional development, as required by policy. Alternatively, this requirement can be fulfilled by having applicants submit the documentation via email. ii. Review received application submissions based on review process and requirements of the law and identify and award districts meeting recognition program requirements. c. Provide OSPI with the list of districts meeting requirements and communicate/recognize in established WASA channels. Year 2: a. Promote and establish the Purple Star Award program: i. Through appropriate and established channels and relationships, continue promoting and establishing this program. b. Application & review process: ii. Open application to allow districts to apply. iii. Review received application submissions based on review process and requirements of the law and identify and award districts meeting recognition program requirements. c. Provide OSPI with the list of districts meeting requirements and communicate/recognize in established WASA channels.
