Specifications include, but are not limited to: providing Design/Build (D/B) services for the Safety and Security Upgrades Bundle Phase 2 project.; This project will utilize the Progressive Design/Build delivery method. Contractors with previous design/build experience or experience using a similar alternative construction delivery format are encouraged to submit. During the project, the Design/Builder will receive overall direction from designated representatives in the Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) Planning & Construction Office and will work collaboratively as a member of a team to achieve project objectives. In addition to staff from the TPS Planning and Construction Office, this team may include representatives from other District departments, the Design/Build Consultant (Parametrix), other district consultants and members from the community. This project will include programming, design and construct of retrofit safety and security upgrades for multiple school sites across the District. Generally, the scope of work may include, but is not limited to, evaluation of existing systems and the programing, design, construction and integration of new or retrofit secure building entry systems, building access control systems, intrusion detection systems, intercom systems, CCTV systems and related infrastructure.
