Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Sound Transit Art Program (“STart”) seeks porcelain enamel fabrication services (“Fabricator”) to produce a 12 foot wide by 52 foot tall mural (“Artwork”) designed by artist Hank Willis Thomas for the Judkins Park Station in Seattle, Washington, currently under construction as part of the agency’s East Link Extension Project. The Artwork, rendered as a color half-tone separated into a Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (CMYK) color space (from a Red, Green, Blue (RGB) original), will integrate into the station’s West Entry on the west façade of the entrance’s elevator tower. Fabrication will require close coordination with the Sound Transit Art Program and the station’s general contractor. 1. Provide all labor, equipment and materials to develop shop drawings, fabricate and deliver the Artwork for installation by Sound Transit’s Judkins Park Station general contractor. 2. Attend at least one pre-production meeting with STart in Seattle to discuss the project and review process. 3. Attend at least one pre-production meeting with the Judkins Park Station contractor to discuss the final dimensions of the Artwork site, anchorage and assembly details and a schedule for the delivery of the Artwork. 4. Develop all necessary shop drawings from the Artwork electronic design files, station design documents and information gathered in pre-fabrication meetings with STart and the Judkins Park Station contractor. 5. Present a plan for wrapping, crating and delivering the Artwork. 6. Fabricate and deliver at least one 24” x 24” porcelain enamel color sample for review and approval. STart reserves the right to request additional samples until it is satisfied that the sample meets the artist’s intent for the Artwork. Samples may be fabricated as flat panels instead of pans. 7. Fabricate the Artwork. 8. Provide at least two weeks’ notice for opportunities for inspections of the Artwork in production. 9. Wrap and crate the Artwork for delivery. 10. Deliver the Artwork. 11.
