The project aims to address the services and equipment needed to upgrade and install a planetarium projection system compatible with the current infrastructure. It also involves converting existing curricula, providing training, and ensuring annual maintenance. The primary objectives of this project are as follows: • Replace existing, aging planetarium projection equipment and software. • Convert the existing curriculum of full-dome shows and scripts from the original system to the new system. • Improve the current immersive learning environment by adding new features (e.g., visualizations of astronomical objects & datasets, integrated sharing of user-generated content) and capabilities (e.g., GUI for creation of automated shows, projection of external sources on the dome, live streaming shows to/from other domes in a planetarium network). • Train planetarium operators on the service and use of the planetarium system. • Provide (at additional cost) technical support and maintenance on an ongoing basis for the lifetime of the planetarium system.
