Ben Franklin Transit (BFT) is actively seeking a proven on-demand paratransit route scheduling and management software to cater directly to our ADA Dial-A-Ride service. BFT’s goal is to establish a real-time dispatching system with automated scheduling, automatic optimization of routes and live schedules, customizable eligibility management workflows, and streamlined trip booking and trip negotiation options. Key features include the ability for BFT to capture all ridership data through user-friendly reports that is a web-based or cloud-based module. All data necessary for mandatory State and Federal reporting must be included in this module. It is imperative that the solution aligns with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements as outlined in the Federal Transit Administrations (FTA) Paratransit regulations. BFT anticipates a solution that is not only supported and robust, but also customizable to meet the needs of the Benton County and Franklin County communities and BFT’s Dial-A-Ride program. The proposed solution will integrate web-based scheduling and dispatching Operational centers, enriched with Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) capabilities. The operational center will seamlessly communicate with onboard hardware, ensuring real-time coordination, booking changes, route updates, and Driver notifications. A public-facing computer/mobile application allowing passengers the easy to schedule and cancel bookings, check eligibility status, and provide real-time status and location of their assigned bus.
