An intertie needs to be constructed to connect two water systems operated by the city to provide source redundancy and decrease reliance on supply from and adjacent water purveyor. The interties are envisioned to move water between the 580-pressure zone to the 390-pressure zones. Work includes a water main extension, pressure reducing valve stations, and pumps. Other work may include stream augmentation at nearby creeks. A location for the pump station will need to be selected and a permanent easement may be needed. In preparation for future phases, the consultant will complete a preliminary engineering report and begin design of the selected improvement to 90% design. Construction is scheduled as early as the winter of 2025/ 2026. The Work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of providing to the City, services including; 1) Alternatives development, situation study, and technical requirements memorandum. 2) Civil design. 3) Environmental and historic/archeological permitting including SEPA, and local critical areas permits. 4) Construction administration and inspection.
