Community Transit (CT) invites vendors to submit quotes for oil and fluid analysis services. CT’s current bus fleet consists of approximately ~230 heavy-duty transit buses, for which used engine oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, and coolant are regularly analyzed. Additional analyses may include hydraulic fluid, and diesel fuel as needed. Testing of new oils, fluids, coolant, and fuel may also be required. The agency also operates a light-duty fleet of approximately 500 vehicles, which may require analysis services for engine oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, coolant, and gasoline on an as-needed basis. Routine work consists of baseline analysis of engine oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, and coolant at the start of the contract and whenever changes are made to the fluid supply. Estimated annual sample volumes include approximately 2,800 used engine oil samples, 2800 used coolant samples, 400 used transmission fluid samples, and 400 used gear oil samples. *Note, Community Transit is currently taking back operations for an additional ~100 heavy-duty transit buses that have historically been operated by a contracted vendor. The full transition will be complete in Q3, 2026.
