The King County Rural Library District, (dba King County Library System), is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to expand our fiber network to 3 buildings located at 304th Avenue SE in Preston, WA. These locations currently utilize DSL/Broadband access via a Meraki M75 enterprise security appliance. Internet traffic is subsequently passed directly from the Meraki security appliances to the DSL/Broadband gateway and demark, while the Meraki device handles site-to-site VPN traffic to our core router. Our core switches are a pair of KCLS owned Cisco Catalyst 6800 switches located at two data centers (Issaquah Service Center and SabeyData Center) for multilink connectivity to KCLS locations and tied into our service provider’s hub at the Westin. The links between the core switches and our current service provider are 4Gbps links, and we have one 10Gbps primary and one 1Gbps management link between our two data centers. Other KCLS locations are served by a vendor provided network link, connected to KCLS owned Cisco L3 Switches by way of CPEs, which provide a layer 2 link through a redundant pair of1GB copper SFPs for high availability. We are looking to replicate the configuration of other locations so that the Cisco Catalyst 9300L switches or Meraki MX75 security gateways at these locations can be connected directly to vendor provided CPEs for internet connectivity.
