The project begins at the WSDOT turn-back limits on the south and extends north to Franklin Street, a total length of approximately 0.85 miles. Main Street is a four-lane principal arterial with curb and sidewalk. The existing pavement is in poor condition with rutting, cracking, and localized base failures. The planned improvements include milling and overlaying the existing pavement, patching failed sections, and restoring the roadway surface with a 2-inch HMA overlay. Curb is present along the entire segment, with gutters present in portions of the project area. Sidewalk conditions vary, and existing pedestrian facilities, including curb ramps, are not ADA compliant. The project will also include upgrading non-compliant ADA curb ramps and improving pedestrian crossings.
