Grass Maintenance Mowing Landscape Type 1 – Turf Area, Desmond Drive, South Amphitheater, Volleyball lawn. Cutting Height – cut at 2" (two inches), when 3” (three inches) tall. Equipment – mulching mower, zero discharge. Frequency (estimated): March 1 to April 30 – every 10 days, when 3” (three inches) tall. May 1 to October 31 – weekly, when 3” (three inches) tall. November 1 to February 28 or 29 – as directed by the Ecology contract manager. Estimated mowing cycles per year – 35. Trim/Edge every other mowing cycle. No contact with trees and shrubs (or stationary-non-organic objects) during mowing & trim/edge operations to prevent damage to plant materials. Edging to be done with fixed blade trimmer which leaves a sharp edge and not with a monofilament trimmer if possible to accomplish with non-combustion equipment. (See Equipment section below) Landscape Type 2 – Rough Grass Area Cutting height – cut at 4 "(four inches), when 6”(six inches) tall. Equipment – mulching mower, zero discharge Frequency – As needed during growing season. No contact with trees and shrubs during mowing & trim/edge operations to prevent damage to plant materials. Landscape Type 3 – Mowed Grass Area Cutting height – cut at 3 "(three inches), when 4”-5”(four to five inches) tall. Equipment – mulching mower, zero discharge Frequency: March. 1 to April 30 – every 14 days May 1 to October 31 – every 10 days November 1 to February 28 or 29 – as directed by the Ecology contract manager Estimated mowing cycles per year – 25. Landscape Type 12 – Meadow Un-mowed Cutting height 6” (six inches) Equipment – mulching mower/tractor, zero discharge Frequency – Once in Fall after first killing frost Estimated mowing cycles per year – 1
