This project includes the design, fabrication, finishing, and delivery of a fully engineered modular Vehicular Rolled Girder Steel Bridge to a staging area location near Tacoma Power’s LaGrande Dam access road and LaGrande reservoir near Alder, Washington. The bridge is part of a project to remove an old deteriorated 72-inch diameter culvert from an ephemeral stream crossing. The LaGrande Dam access road is the primary means to mobilize any heavy equipment required for any subsequent activities at the LaGrande Dam; therefore, the bridge shall be designed to HL-93 AASHTO vehicular live loading. Incorporating geotechnical recommendations into existing site conditions and planned excavations inform that the bridge shall be 45-feet long (minimum) and 18-feet wide. The modular vehicular bridge shall have 19-W-4 heavy-duty bar grating wearing surface with 12-gauge galvanized Thrie-Beam vehicular guardrail. It is the supplier’s responsibility to ensure all work required to design, fabricate, transport and unload the modular steel bridge at the delivery location is included in their bid. The supplier shall supply all materials required to complete the work required by this contract in excess of those materials listed in Section 01040 – Project Coordination. In all cases, the City’s contract is with one (1) supplier/vendor, and it is the vendor’s responsibility to ensure all work required to provide a complete and fully engineered vehicular steel bridge is included in their bid. Major components of work under this contract include, but are not limited to, the following list: 1. Completed design, plans, and drawings of bridge structure. 2. Completed fabrication of bridge structure and components. 3. Delivery of bridge structure and components.
