PUBLIC NOTICE MASON CONSERVATION DISTRICT is requesting bids from qualified parties to hold, harvest, and haul the required logs and slash for future use in the construction of engineered log jams in the upper South Fork of the Skokomish River in Mason County, Washington. A total of 1,044 logs (consisting of 234 timber piles, 100 log poles, and 710 logs with rootwads still attached) and 5,850 cubic yards of slash are required as a part of this Contract. All logs (except for piles) are to have a minimum DBH of 24-inches. Recommissioning approximately 0.8 miles of U.S. Forest Service Roads (spur roads 2361-400 and 2361-430) to access the project stockpile staging area is also part of the contract. The contract will be broken into two phases. Phase 1 of the contract consists of holding the necessary site(s) for future harvest of the required logs, piles, and slash.
