Provide a broad range of government relations and lobbying services on behalf of the City of Tacoma before the legislative and executive branches of the federal government. • Advise and assist in planning, formulating, and implementing the City’s federal legislative agenda on fiscal, regulatory and policy issues. • Facilitate an annual planning meeting with City staff to discuss the current year's legislative agenda, assess progress toward established goals, and identify new federal legislative priorities for the upcoming year. This meeting may be held in coordination with the City's state lobbyist to maximize opportunities for aligned federal and state support. • Develop and recommend strategies to advance the City's federal agenda, proactively representing the City's federal priorities before the U.S. Congress, federal agencies, and White House. • Educate federal officials and their staff on the unique needs and perspectives of the City of Tacoma. • Monitor bills that may impact the City’s interests in accordance with the legislative priorities established by the City and provide interpretation and analysis of bills to City staff.
