The FFT Project is uniquely configured in Washington State. The FFT Project has a Quality Assurance & Quality Improvement Administrator who works with the FFT National consultant to ensure model fidelity and statewide implementation, from clinical supervisors, to therapists, agencies and referral sources (Juvenile Court, Child Welfare, and JR). The FFT clinical therapists receive consultation services from DCYF contracted FFT Clinical Supervisors, rather than on-site agency supervisors. Both, in turn, receive their training, technical assistance, and clinical consultation from the FFT National Consultant. (See Exhibit A - Washington State FFT Project Chart); The role of FFT National Consultant is to ensure on-going model fidelity, as well as communicating updated information to FFT clinical therapists and FFT Clinical Supervisors to enhance their development, interagency linking, and program expansion. Currently, FFT clinical therapists enter data into the FFT Clinical Services System (CSS). The CSS is designed to build therapist competence and skills in the application of FFT with clients. The FFT CSS is an “on-line implementation tool” that allows therapists to track the modalities essential for successful implementation: Session process goals, comprehensive client assessments, and clinical outcomes. The goal of the FFT CSS is to increase therapist competence and skill by keeping therapist focused on the relevant goals, skills, and interventions necessary for each of the phases of FFT. The computer-based format allows the therapist to have easy access to a wide variety of process and assessment information in order to make good clinical decisions and complete outcome information to evaluate case success.
