The purpose of this contract is to provide engineering and related services to King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, Parks Division (“County”) to identify and collect existing condition information, conduct a planning phase to evaluate multiple route and facility alternatives and ultimately identify a preferred alternative, coordinate with partners such as the City of Renton, establish design criteria and design phase alternatives, and perform future phases of work for the Preliminary Design, Final Design and Construction Engineering for subprojects of the Renton Regional Trail Hub. Planning will cover the entire project area while all other phases are anticipated to occur on different timelines for each subproject. Initial subprojects could be projects such as: • Eastrail to Lake to Sound Connector, design • Lake to Sound Segment E (from Segment D to Cedar River Trail), design and construction The contract is anticipated to be phased as follows, as detailed below in the Scope of Work: Phase 1: Planning - anticipated duration approximately 24 months; Phase 2: Preliminary Design - anticipated duration approximately 12 months; Phase 3: Final Design and Bidding Services - anticipated duration approximately 18 months; Phase 4: Services During Construction - anticipated duration approximately 18 months; Phase 5: Close Out - anticipated duration approximately 12 months; Phase 6: Acquisition - anticipated duration approximately 36 months
