2.1. The Port of Seattle (Port) is soliciting a Request for Information (RFI) from qualified vendors to provide information regarding an Elevator Emergency Two-Way Communications System for the Port of Seattle, including Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and the Port’s maritime properties. 2.2. The Port has elevators across its diverse facilities from a range of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Through this RFI the Port wants to understand the solution options on the market that are OEM agnostic and the features and functionality provided by each. The Port is looking for an Elevator Emergency Two-Way Communications System that meets recent International Building Code (IBC) changes for communicating with passengers in emergency situations. 2.3. The goals of the Elevator Emergency Two-Way Communications System include the following: 2.3.1. Meet building compliance ASME A17.1 2019/CSA B44-19, IBC 2021, and NFPA 72 requirements for two-way elevator visual communication, providing an improved method for the hearing impaired to communicate with rescue services. 2.3.2. Provide a standard solution that can be used Port-wide to minimize overall ownership costs.
