Specifications include, but are not limited to:Contractor agrees to be responsible for the opening and closing of the Elbe Rest Area, the building caretaking, sidewalk and plaza snow removal, and grounds maintenance two times a day. Caretaker work will consist of as follows: Cleaning toilets and urinals, washing and wiping down of walls, filling paper machines, picking up litter and disposal of litter bags, sweeping of sidewalks, minor weed pulling of landscape and other cleaning duties as required. Contractor will supply and be responsible for the following: Tools and equipment for cleaning including brooms, blowers, etc. Transportation to/from the designated location. All Safety equipment including safety glasses, ear plugs/muffs, gloves, litter pickers, etc. Pick-up and disposal of filled litter bags/garbage bags in dumpster. Scope of work to be provided by Contractor: 1. Use and reorder all cleaning materials and supplies necessary to routinely maintain the building and grounds. These items can be warehoused at the rest area in a locked containment area. The state is responsible for al materials, supplies, etc. in the restroom building unless the loss or damage of these items is the result of negligence on the part of the Contractor. 2. Thoroughly clean, disinfect and re-supply the restrooms. The professional cleaning unit will be used when available. 3. Maintain waterless urinals. 4. Thoroughly pick up all litter from areas within the perimeter of the Rest Area. 5. Inspect for vandalism and/or needed repairs, and report any to Washington State Department of Transportation at 253-983-7550, promptly during business hours. If vandalism is discovered during the evenings or weekends, it must be immediately reported to the Washington State Patrol at 911, and also reported to the Lakewood Office as soon as possible. 6. No water hook-up at this time. IF water is hooked up at a later date, record once each day the number of hours that the water pump operates (meter installed and provided by ______________County), and record on a log located at the rest area. 7. Notify WSDOT when facility water tank is below 50% of capacity. 8. Remove minor graffiti 9. Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and plaza area. 10. Sweep all indoor and outside areas as needed. 11. Clean building windows as needed. 12. Minor hand pulling of weeks and vegetation. 13. Open and close gates and doors; secure building.
